Highlands United Methodist church was the setting for Joann and Joey’s fabulous May wedding. During the months of planning, Alene discovered that Joann was dreaming of a wedding and reception that would have the look and feel of a European country wedding, evoking feelings of simple elegance, casual vintage, and have lots of charm and warmth.
The Avondale Villa was the perfect reception spot to pull this off.
Kathy G catering and Carol Riley of Lillie’s flowers worked with Alene and Joann to give the reception that wonderful South of France feel. The bicycle by the door, it’s basket filled with flowers and two freshly baked baguettes, are exactly what you would see in any small town in the French countryside and gave a charming glance into what was inside the Villa.
All details were carefully crafted to give that same look and feel throughout,
including the buffet table stacked with old wine crates, chalkboards, pots of
lavender, candles, and beautiful linens.
All guests loved the music, food, and even the surprise cookies and milk served late in the evening. When it was time for the new Mr. and Mrs. to make their exit, the guests showered them with lavender petals, as they drove off in their vintage auto.
