Every year I take on a select number of full-service wedding planning clients. This is perfect for the client who is a busy professional and simply doesn’t have time to devote to all the needs wedding planning requires. With full wedding planning, we are there every step of the way from initial design, venue and vendor selection all the way to complete wedding day execution. We LOVED working with Danielle and Toby in to bring their vision to life. Today we’re sharing part one of how we planned their gorgeous wedding.
I love designing weddings! It is really fun to think of new ways to bring our clients personalities and stories to their wedding day. Danielle is an interior designer so she had a real vision for her day but still needed our help to pull all the details together. We always start with an initial design meeting to discuss wants, must haves, ideas, scroll Pinterest together so I can see your style boards, home design boards, and of course wedding boards. I also love incorporating parts of the clients lives & story into the design. After that meeting, we put together a design presentation. It is sourced images for all visual aspects of the weddings, drawings, layouts, and ideas all representing how the wedding will come together. Once we met with Danielle and Toby, it was clear they were looking for a event design that represented the best of the south- timeless, refined and joyous fun.
Today I’m sharing snippets of their design presentation! In our next post, you’ll see how these concepts came to life with so many wonderful vendors.
What is important to keep in mind is that the design will evolve as the planning goes on and you continue to refine the vision but they serve as a wonderful guide as we continue our work. One of my favorite parts of Danielle & Toby’s wedding was incorporating some nods to Cinco de Mayo as their wedding fell on May 5th. We didn’t want it cheesy but fun, cute, and a small touch. Another great part of their wedding was the real focus on highlighting their new city of Birmingham and the place they began their life together. They welcome friends and family from Pennsylvania, Chicago, Louisiana, California, New York, and more so we wanted to show off our beautiful Magic City.
Planning Protip: When choosing colors, I love going to the paint chip section at your local home improvement store. You can get lots of different shades and see what works well together. Also a great way to tote around your wedding colors easily.
Next week we’ll be sharing their beautiful reception and the final details! If you’re interested in learning more about our full planning or other services, contact us!
